Our newspaper is located in Ocheyedan, Iowa, 12 miles east of our northwest Iowa Osceola county seat, Sibley. We are just 22 miles west of a state tourist attraction: The Iowa Great Lakes (Okoboji).
We are a legal newspaper for Osceola county as well as for our school district: Sibley-Ocheyedan. Our news staff covers county and city meetings for Ocheyedan and Melvin. In addition, we cover school events for the districts of Sibley-Ocheyedan and Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn.
Published by its parent company, The Press, Inc., co-publishers of newspaper since 1989 have been Jan Reiste Pedley and Arlyn Pedley. The Ocheyedan natives purchased majority ownership from her parents, Bob and Evelyn Reiste, when the Reistes "eased into retirement." Full Story
