Sibley-Ocheyedan ended the regular season with a three-game winning streak, defeating Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn 11-1 Friday night at Hartley in the regular-season finale. The win boosted the Generals to 11-16 overall and 6-10 in Siouxland Conference play while H-M-S dropped to 9-16 overall and 5-11 in the league.

S-O threatened in the top of the first but left a runner at second base. In the second, they sent nine batters to the plate and scored five runs on four hits. Mike Berkland picked up the first runner, Craig Jacobsma, with a base hit to right. Matt Juber's double to right scored both Craig Hertz and Berkland. Shayne Schuelke drove in a pair of runs with a two-out single to right center. In the third, Marshall Doeden led off with a walk and Jacobsma reached base, and advanced to second, on an error. Doeden scored on Hertz's sacrifice fly to center and Jacobsma eventually scored on a passed ball. Schuelke reached base on a one-out error in the sixth and later scored on Jacobsma's base hit. Rounding out the Generals' scoring, they added three in the top of the seventh on four hits. Schuelke had the only RBI of the inning. The Hawks' lone score came in the bottom of the sixth. Andrew Awka drew a one-out walk, moved to second on a wild pitch and scored when Alec Ahmann hit into a fielder's choice. S-O pounded out a dozen hits in the game. Doeden was two-for-three with two walks and a run scored. Berkland was two-for-four with one run scored and one RBI; and Schuelke was two-for-five with two runs scored and three RBI. He faced 31 batters allowing one unearned run on five hits and four walks with five strikeouts. Wetrich took the loss for H-M-S. He pitched six innings, giving up eight runs on seven hits and six walks while striking out two of the 34 batters he faced. Akwa threw the seventh.
